Production Supervisor

Job Description:

Role Purpose
To supervise and manage shop floor production activities, ensuring targets are achieved with quality, safety, and efficiency while maintaining smooth coordination with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

Production Operations
• Supervise day-to-day shop floor activities and ensure smooth production flow
• Monitor production output and ensure daily/shift targets are achieved
• Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machines, and materials
• Coordinate with maintenance team to minimize machine downtime

Quality & Compliance
• Ensure adherence to quality standards and SOPs
• Monitor in-process checks and reduce rejections / wastage
• Maintain proper documentation and production records
• Ensure compliance with safety norms and company policies

Team Management
• Allocate work and manage shift-wise manpower planning
• Train and guide operators for improved performance
• Maintain discipline and ensure proper communication on the shop floor

Process Improvement
• Identify areas for process improvement and cost reduction
• Support implementation of continuous improvement initiatives (Kaizen, 5S)
• Assist in troubleshooting and resolving production issues

Coordination
• Coordinate with Quality, Maintenance, and Stores teams
• Ensure timely availability of raw materials and resources
• Escalate critical issues to Production Manager

Qualification
• Diploma / BE in Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering

Experience
• 3 – 6 years of experience in manufacturing / production environment
• Preferred industry: Food / FMCG
