Strategic Business Unit Head (Product / Vertical Management)

Job Description:

Location: Mumbai (Require Extensive Domestic & International Travel)
Reporting To: Vice President
Team / Direct Reports: Team of BDM & Service Engineers

Job Purpose
To lead and manage as a product/vertical owner for fire-fighting equipment of international repute across India. The role is responsible for product strategy execution, tender management, PAN-India coordination, team leadership, factory inspections, training, commissioning oversight, and key account engagement to ensure growth, compliance, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as Product / Vertical Owner for fire-fighting equipment.
• Lead PAN India activities for product positioning, coordination, and execution.
• Knowledge on government: tenders, budget process, liaison strategy, relationship building
• Handling of government fire services, municipal corporations, industrial fire departments.
• Making Technical Specifications.
• Handle select strategic/key accounts directly.
• Oversee new equipment deliveries including factory inspection tests (FAT).
• Plan and conduct product training for Regional Managers and BDM’s
• Oversee customer training, commissioning, and handover activities.
• Provide technical guidance and escalation support when required.
• Ensure customer satisfaction, complaint closure, and long-term relationship management.

Candidate Profile

• Qualification: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Fire Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience (Mandatory): 8–12 years of experience in product management, vertical management, or business leadership within industrial, fire-fighting, or capital equipment domains.
• Proven leadership experience managing large, multi-location teams (prerequisite).
• Strong exposure to government/PSU tenders and large project environments.
• PAN India role exposure is essential.

• Strong ownership mindset for product lifecycle, positioning, and performance.
• Ability to translate product strategy into execution across regions.
• Deep understanding of technical specifications, compliance standards, and application engineering.
• Capability to act as the single-point authority for the assigned product vertical.
